This was my reaction to discovering cameo.com via Tal Wilkenfeld (check her out, she's SOOO incredibly good and talented). Browsing it felt like a gut punch. Everything about it feels wrong to me, especially when I saw guys from NOFX on there who are absolute fucking legends and childhood heroes of mine. All about this is just wrong, wrong, wrong. I want to be starstruck by my heroes. I don't want to be able to buy them. Punkrock legends like NOFX and people with the talent of Tal shouldn't have to record greeting messages for rich jerks to get by. They should make awesome music, be worshipped for that and get rich, end of story. This whole internet, gig economy and capitalism thing in general has gone too far.
So I wrote this song at two o'clock at night and recorded it the next day. To support the circus bear imagery I thought of a waltz organ, and Todd was kind enough to provide not one, but three organ tracks. Thank you so much!
