My brain built this around the beat. It started with me drumming, and my kick drum is so ridiculously bad that at one point it was almost that triplet which gave me the idea for the beat. The rest formed in my head on my bike during my ride back home from work. It is probably very much influenced by Elbow and Alt-J.

The words were also kind of there already and I had to make some sense of them. I had to think of a situation where me and my girlfriend were freshly in love and driving on the highway. There was an incredible moon on the horizon, big and red, like the supermoon we saw two days ago. That moment somehow stuck with me.
A forum thread gave me the idea to use the word "supermoon" in a song.
