about

Homophobia goes hand in hand with religion. There is a long tradition of persecuting and punishing (especially) men for loving members of the same sex in the name of God or some Holy Scriptures.
Apparently straight men have always been horrified by the thought of same sex intercourse and had their aversion institutionalized in religious decrees. Combined with some strange ideas of manliness this has led to the disgusting treatment of gay people that - unfortunately - is still very common.
The more I thought about it, the more ridiculous it seemed to spread the hate towards people who do no wrong in the name of a made up superior being that is supposed to be good and loving. The lyrics are from the point of view of a gay person towards all the homophobes that claim to speak in the name of God.
You think same-sex love is not natural behaviour? It is, deal with it.
You what isn’t? Celibacy.

lyrics

I’ll never go to heaven
I’ve been living life in sin
At least that’s what they say
when I found heaven within

I’ve been fighting it vain
And why should I?
It’s just a matter of love

I don’t mean to offend you
I never chose to feel that way
It’s just the way I was born
and it’s not your business anyway

Who made the laws that you defend?
And who made you judge over me?

My love feels so true
maybe not to you
But why should I care about you?
Anyway
It’s just a matter of love

I’ll never go to heaven
So I’ll seek heaven here on earth
If I will go to hell then
I gotta make sure it was worth it
Never did harm to you anyone
so what for
is condemnation on me?

We all need love
we all seek joy
so calm yourself
calm yourself

We all will live
we all will die
so calm yourself

and love is all that it’s about
anyway
anyway

My love feels so true
maybe not to you
But why should I care about you?
In the end
It’s just a matter of love

I put my pants on just like the rest of you -- one leg at a time. Except, once my pants are on, I make songs that no one cares about.
