This song popped up my head last summer while trimming hedges, complete with the "Animals" at the start of every line, and when such an idea sticks in my brain months after, I deem it worthy of recording. All I had to do is to write lyrics. The musical theme of part 2 was taken from a band jam and it seemed to fit nicely there.
This is about speciesism, the idea of humankind being superior to animals and thus claiming the right to rule over them, eat them, breed them, abuse them and make them go extinct one species after another. This is also reflected in our idioms and expressions.
